Patience shares the same canonic technique as all in due time. The canons are first stated at very close time intervals and gradually move away from each other, revealing at their sixth repetition the "correct" solution, in this case a harmonization of "America", broken into six phrases. The original version was for
a multi-tracked electric organ. The orchestration was made in 1978 . Patience is dedicated to Lukas Foss , whose generosity and encouragement to me and many other young composers cannot be measured.
